On January 27th and 28th, the Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh and the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) co-hosted a convening of museum, library and policy professionals at the Children’s Museum. The purpose of the convening was to discuss the ways in which we can support making in libraries and museums. By engaging in discussions and making activities, we vetted a preliminary framework to support learning in these makerspaces as well as learn from each other’s experiences and expertise. Also, and just as significant, we were able to see old friends, meet new ones and learn from one another through hands-on making and discussion.
